Proverbs 3:15 NIV

“She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.”

There have been a lot of very wealthy people in the world. According to Wikipedia “Manda Musa I was the ninth mansa of the Mali Empire, which reached its territorial peak during his reign. Musa is known for his wealth and generosity. He has been subject to popular claims that he is the wealthiest person in history, but his actual wealth is not known with any certainty.” Augustus, the first ruler of the Roman Empire, is said to have been worth $4.6 trillion in todays value. His rule actually over lapped with the birth and first decade or so of Jesus life. I mention that because Solomon, who was on that list of wealthiest people who ever lived himself, declares in this verse and throughout his writings that any amount of wealth is of far distant value compared to knowing God and His wisdom. When you compare the wealth of Caesar Augustus and Jesus, one’s bank account eclipses the others beyond comparison however, only a fool would choose Caesars situation today over Jesus’s. Jesus Himself talked about the foolishness of gaining the whole world yet losing your eternity. Today do your work well yet pursue the wealth that last forever. #BeTheEdge

“What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” Jesus
