Long life, peace and prosperity – I’m in. Seriously people pay a fortune to try and achieve these three things. The peace and prosper are promised by every politician trying to get elected. They are a big enough draw that people vote for those promising it even knowing they can never deliver them. It is the longing of all hearts. God has the answer. I’m tempted to say He has the formula but we don’t serve a formula God. There is no do these 4 things and you get long life, peace and prosperity. That being said He is a God of promises. How they are fulfilled doesn’t always look the same to everyone but fulfilled they are…when we obey His directives. This verse follows verse 1. He told us in that passage not to forget His teaching and keep His commands in our hearts. That is where the formula breaks down. Peace and prosperity might come for you today in obeying God’s command about how you love your spouse. For me it may be the result of His command to love my neighbor or guard the things that I allow my eyes to look at. The promise is the same. The result is also the same but the command and teaching He speaks into our story throughout the day can be as varied as there are followers. Thankfully He has not called me to direct your story today or you to direct mine. Today let His truth guide your way and enjoy His blessings. #BeTheEdge
