Proverbs 3:3 NASB

“Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart.”

I saw this the other day – “Even the strongest hands can lose their grip, the greatest minds can become cloudy, and the biggest hearts can break. So be kind just always, be kind.”  That one touched me. While Christmas is a blessed time of year, many suffer silently during the holidays. There is a pain acutely felt by those who have suffered loss, mistreatment or have just never experienced the true Savior of the Christmas story. They have been through this season enough times to realize they will not find the “magic” so many seem to know. Kindness might just be the greatest gift we have to offer another traveler at this time in their journey.

A little boy was frightened in his bed during a loud storm. His mother came to him and told him he was ok – that Jesus was with him. He responded, “I need Jesus with skin on Him.” We all needed that. That’s what the first Christmas was all about. Today, God has called us as His followers to be that for a lost, lonely, and hurting world. The truth of this season is that God came to us. Today, take Him, through kindness, to others. #BeTheEdge
