“Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.”
I admit it. My tendency is to “go off half cocked”. I get excited about an idea, especially a new one, and I get way out over my skis. Sometimes it is a God prompted idea and sometimes not. Occasionally I’m not as far out front as I thought. Thankfully God knows me better than I know myself and He reserves an idea until He knows the time is right then He springs it on His servant Kevin knowing I will run quick out of the gate. He’s included that in His calculation. Solomon is encouraging us to count the cost and plan ahead. Going off “half cocked” is not a successful business or biblical strategy. About this verse ‘Hope Reflected’ says “that we should make sure our actions are set, fixed, acceptable, even habitual. The decisions that we make should be reflective of our Faith. The direction in which we choose to take our life should be honouring to the Lord.” Well said. Godly decisions are often not a sudden inspiration. They are most often the result of growing in the ways of God. His wisdom, discipline and training in righteousness results in careful and steadfast living for the Kingdom of God. Today continue to grow in the ways of God. #BeTheEdge
