Proverbs 4:9 NIV

“She will give you a garland to grace your head and present you with a glorious crown.”

We last saw this phrase about a garland to grace your head 3 days ago in Proverbs 1:9. These are the only two places it’s used and as a reminder “no signs or badges of joy or glory were higher in worth than the garland around the head”. This is all about the pursuit and attainment of Wisdom. The getting of Wisdom is considered by Solomon to be the greatest thing we can do. Here the one who achieves it gets the great recognition of a warrior gone to battle and returned in victory. To be sure there is nothing to lead us to believe that the warrior is not wounded, hobbled or even being carried on a stretcher. Life can be, and very often is, a fierce battle. The pursuit of wisdom begins at home, then in our community (church) and carry’s on for the rest of our life. Ultimately the glorious crown will come from the hands of the king, our King. His wisdom is all encompassing and not hidden. It must be pursued though. We dig into God’s word and we avail ourselves to solid teaching. We live by its truth and gain the invaluable deep wisdom of experiencing His Word in action. As we watch God work through our obedience in alignment with His Wise counsel we acquire supernatural insight and wisdom. There is no shortcut for that but when discovered it is life and eternity changing. Our perspective receives deep insight and His Spirit changes us. That is the gift of wisdom earned and learned. Today dig deep, walk obediently and grow in the wisdom of God. #BeTheEdge
