Proverbs 5:16 NIV

“Should your springs overflow in the streets, your streams of water in the public squares?”

This verse is in a chapter that is revealing a person who is foolish and undisciplined. They are not walking in a relationship with God. This specifically deals with the sin of adultery and the fool who is involved. That’s kind of harsh. But true! There is nothing good about the adulterous life. And it’s just not smart. No doubt God can redeem anything in our story however everyone involved directly with the relationship and even tacitly with the adulterer suffers. They may not even realize they are suffering but brokenness in a persons relationship with God makes that person dangerous to all those around them. As they walk in the flesh they are puppets of Satan and available for his work. That’s a very dangerous person. Solomon spends a lot of time in this book talking about the evil and consequences of sexual sin. That alone let’s us know how seriously He considers it to be. In the proper context the physical part of our story, actually every part, is powerful. Improperly pursued it is the most destructive sin we can be involved in. Paul tells us it is the one sin that destroys us internally. That’s frightening. Today keep your eyes on Jesus and walk in step with Him alone. #BeTheEdge

“Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭18‬ ‭NIV‬‬
