Proverbs 5:8 NIV

“Keep to a path far from her, do not go near the door of her house,”

At times it can be hard to choose the right path. Sometimes we may struggle to know the right path. There can also be a mighty battle when we change from the wrong path to the right path, just ask an addict. However, the assumption Solomon makes in this verse contains a powerful truth. Here he is telling the vulnerable follower to stay, that’s right stay, on the correct path that is already far from this evil. We find that, although temptation is always out there, we should be established on a path walking with God that stays far from those things that threaten to pull us away from Him. Paul let’s us know that there is nothing, not one single thing, that will tempt us to change from God’s path for our story that has not been encountered and avoided by others. And we have the same power working in us to steer clear of that sin that all believers have, God’s Holy Spirit. It is the power that raised Jesus from the dead. The key here is to know what is ahead and stay on the path that leads far from evil. Paul’s promise in 1st Corinthians is that God gives us the escape path when we see the temptation ahead, not when we walk up to it and flirt with it. Today stay on God’s path and avoid evil. #BeTheEdge

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭10:13‬ ‭NIV‬‬
