Proverbs 6:14 NIV

“who plots evil with deceit in his heart— he always stirs up conflict.”

We all know the “minor league” version of this type of person. Thankfully, they are not evil. I have a couple of good friends who live to make others feel uncomfortable. When you’re with them and someone walks up, they like to say something outrageous just to make you both uncomfortable. For example, when the waitress came to our table the other day, one of them said, “I want you to know that everyone here wanted to leave a great tip—well, except for this guy next to me.” Everyone chuckled, including the waitress, who knew it wasn’t true. That type of person is usually harmless. Solomon, however, is talking about the person who is malicious behind someone’s back. Over the years, I’ve had staff like that, and you’ve probably seen them too. They ruin people and their reputations for evil reasons. These individuals cause disruption and even damage to God’s kingdom work. There are times when we need to separate ourselves from them. Other times, we pray for them and ignore their behavior. Mostly, we need to ensure that nothing we do resembles them. God calls us to act so differently that the world sees something in us that draws them to Him. We are to reflect the peacemaker that Jesus is. Today, be kind. #BeTheEdge #BeKind

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬
