“My son, observe the commandment of your father and do not forsake the teaching of your mother;” Proverbs 6:20 NASB

Sometimes it can be easy to believe we know everything we need to. We can look at the people we are around, hear them give advice or opinions that don’t seem very informed and be fooled into believing we are much smarter than they are. This realization, true at the time or not, can leave us a bit arrogant and unreachable. I recently heard this, “If you’re the smartest person in the room then you’re in the wrong room.” Being teachable is a high priority when I’m looking for staff or team members. It should also be our constant attitude toward life. The things we learned early in life can serve as a great foundation for our understanding, but it should always be built upon. Taking the truth we have been given and allowing God to continue to build on it is His plan. Let’s make it ours as well. Today, remember the lessons and learning of our past, but look to build on it. #BeTheEdge
