My son in law just dropped my 6 year old granddaughter off at Bible club at her school. My 9 year old granddaughter goes every other Thursday morning to an all girls before school BIble study led by a pair of Auburn University girls. Their parents make sure they get there. I asked one of my elementary school grandkids the other day what was their favorite class in school, knowing she is a wiz at science I suspected something from that academic arena. She told me it was her Bible class. Let me assure you that all of my grandkids go to great schools and are getting great educations. There is something extra special when I hear that their training at home is being supported through their school and with their friends. Some of you know that I spent over 40 years of my life in para church ministry with junior and senior high school students. When I started in the ministry very few churches had youth pastors. That is no longer the case.
As a grandfather I love all of this. Solomon is letting us know that the biblical training we receive from our parents is vital to a secure future. Today, contrary to what we sometimes see on the news, there are tons of resources to help a parent. It is vital to their safety and security that they are raised in God’s truth and find it supplemented at every opportunity. I assure you that the lost world is out to get them.
