Proverbs 7:20 NIV

“He took his purse filled with money and will not be home till full moon.”

As the woman in this chapter is trying to entice the young man into adultery she attempts to convince him that her husband, literally ‘the man’ has enough money to stay gone a long time. If true it would mean that he would never catch them because he might be gone for as long as a month. Very possibly a lie to put the young guy at easy moving toward the sin. Satan love’s creating a sense of safety or the idea we will never get caught as he leads us into sin. This lie is countered by the scriptural teaching that all sin, even done in darkness, will be revealed. It is a sad sign of our decline as a society that the issue of sin being revealed is no longer the caution it use to be. Today much of the vilest sin imaginable is on public display in the public arena or readily available on social media. To some degree many have lost any sense of shame. It is almost to the point where there is pride in some public displays of sin. The idea of getting caught is not a deterrent like it was. As a result some sin that was barely whispered about in the dark is flaunted in the light. The tragedy of that deteriorating sense of values is destroying individual lives, families and communities. It is also taking a toll on our nation and world. Today let God reveal the sin in and around your life and raise the standard with those in your sphere of influence. #BeTheEdge
