Proverbs 7:22 NIV

“All at once he followed her like an ox going to the slaughter, like a deer stepping into a noose” Proverbs 7:22 NIV

This verse begs the question, “What are you anchored to?” I sat on the porch at my mom’s lake cabin yesterday and watched a steady breeze blow from the end of her slough out toward the open water. About 25 feet off her dock is a 5’ x 10’ floating mat. My son in law tied a rope from the mat to a rock on the bottom of the lake. Last weekend we watched 8 grandkids play, laugh, and wrestle on that mat all weekend and it stayed pretty much in the same place. Today, as the breeze blew it stayed put. Jesus has referred to Himself and His words as The Rock. He affirms that if our life is built on that Rock, no matter what storms rage in this world, He will protect us and hold us tight. He doesn’t say we will enjoy the storms, but He does promise to miraculously provide joy in the storms.  Without Him as an anchor we can be suddenly snatched up and pushed out into dangerous open water, alone. Today, look to Him to hold you tight, and ride out the storms in safety. #BeTheEdge

“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.” John 10:28-29 NIV
