Proverbs 7:4 NIV

“Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and to insight, “You are my relative.””

I have often heard leaders in a company talk about the organizations DNA. They refer to their best people as those who share that corporate DNA. Previously as a leader in an organization for 40 years I certainly recognized our groups DNA. After a number of years their staff tended to have a very common language. Organization policy, majority thinking and methodologies were pretty much second nature amongst other things. In this verse Solomon goes to the idea of shared DNA between us as God’s followers and His Wisdom. In most cases there is no closer relationship he could refer to. God who invented DNA and the familial bond that goes with it refers throughout scripture to those connections. He loves the use of references to the family. Calling us at various times His little children, brothers and sisters, His family. Jesus refers to two parts of the trinity as father and son. We are to be so connected to God’s wisdom and insight that it is at our core who we are, our DNA. In the official definition of DNA we are told that it carries the genetic instructions in all living things. I think Solomon used a great picture even before they knew about DNA. God’s wisdom and insight built deep into our lives should also carry His instruction to us moment by moment. Today continue to allow God’s truth to become your very DNA and allow it to lead in your journey. #BeTheEdge
