“By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just;”
The wisdom God gave His hero Kings and rulers of the Old Testament is available to us. Not some of it, all of it. I would even suggest that more in that life was much simpler then and we have circumstances that may require more insightful, Godly wisdom than was ever needed centuries ago. Maybe. We don’t have to look too far back to find rulers who ignored or even chose to openly defy God’s wisdom in their ruling. It is also not hard to find kings of old who surrounded themselves with very selfish and unwise counsel. Solomon reminds us that when a leader leads by God’s wisdom and design everyone within their influence finds greater joy, peace and success by His definition. They also experience the just decrees for wise leadership. As with all of scripture there is a clear distinction between those who follow God’s direction and those who don’t. All kings rule by Jesus design, even the bad ones. Jesus is known as the King of Kings. That being said, as scripture attests to and our daily news informs us, many don’t recognize His hand in their position. Everyone loses at that point. As Solomon was seen to pray for wisdom to lead so should we seek God’s wisdom in our leadership. Today ask God for revelation and then obey. #BeTheEdge
