Proverbs 8:16 NIV

“by me princes govern, and nobles—all who rule on earth.”

“Traditionally, Saturdays within the Church year are dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. This ancient tradition developed in part due to the belief that, as others were filled with fear and confusion, Mother Mary kept vigil on Holy Saturday in prayerful anticipation of Jesus’ resurrection. She knew her Son would rise.” (Reflections) I don’t know if this is true or not but like many church traditional beliefs it is interesting to consider. As we contemplate what is known as Quiet Saturday or Black Saturday in light of this verse it is helpful to be on this side of the resurrection. Before that first Easter Sunday the world relied on the Wisdom and promises of God. Experientially they had Old Testament miracles and what Jesus did and taught. For them that was enough. How would Quiet Saturday be different for us without the resurrection. They had a promise. We have a risen savior. In both cases our understanding of the person of God and His relationship with us is only understood through the wisdom He’s given. Today ponder the crucifixion and prepare for the resurrection in your soul. #BeTheEdge
