Proverbs 8:18 NIV

“With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity.”

Solomon understood generational wealth. He also knew the value of wisdom over riches. When given the choice by God to choose anything he wanted he chose wisdom over wealth. As a result of putting wisdom over anything else God gave him both. When we put God first we set ourselves up to watch Him handle the other areas of our story. Our family, job, and possessions all find their correct value and roles in our life as we put them under God’s control. They also become blessings rather than curses and burdens when we recognize they all belong to Him anyway. As New Testament Christians we know not to look to riches here on earth but instead we value blessings from our Heavenly Father as we operate in His truth. Wealth is temporal, even durable wealth. However with God first any wealth gained through integrity and Godly interactions will last much longer than any gained through dishonest means. This is not primarily a verse about wealth. It is about the primacy of God. Today put Him first and watch everything else line up. #BeTheEdge

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Jesus
