Proverbs 8:8 NIV

“All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse.”

Lest you wonder if this verse is talking about you or me it is not. Here Solomon is referring to wisdom which in this reference is God Himself. Clearly not even the wisest philosophers or preachers can, or at least should, make this claim. Only the words of God are pure, infallible and completely just. It is an awe inspiring thing to truly grasp the level of perfection offered by not just certain words but every utterance of God. With that being true it is amazing how often we forget or even willfully choose to ignore and not live by them. I have had numerous conversations over the years with young believers, and even some who were not so young, about a truth from scripture where their response was, “nuh uh, it doesn’t really say that” or something similar. They were truly unfamiliar with a relatively basic biblical truth and even doubted it until they were shown it in scripture. How can we possibly live out God’s invaluable wisdom if we are unfamiliar with it? A while ago I mentioned a variety of reading plans I found helpful in reading consistently from God’s Word. Perhaps the simplest is to read a chapter a day on weekdays in the New Testament. By doing this you will read the entire New Testament in a year. Whatever you choose be sure you are getting a steady diet of the Holy, perfect, infallible word of God. Today dig in and follow the perfect path. #BeTheEdge
