“The tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked is of little value.”

When you speak truth, kindness and life to others it is not only good for your soul but also of great value to the hearer. I doubt anyone would say that there is too many kind words in the world today. In the book “The power of the Spoken Word” the authors declare “Our words have the power to change our lives. By paying more attention to how we speak, and hence how we think, we can change our circumstances for the better. The power of the spoken word will help you make the positive changes that you’ve always wanted to make.” Speaking light into darkness turns on the light and causes at least some of the darkness to flee. Speaking peace into strife can calm the room or even the larger group. James tells us that the tongue (our spoken words) have the power of life and death. Jesus spoke words that not only reflected God Himself but that changed the broken to healed, the lost to saved, the anxious to rest. God spoke and everything we know and much of what we don’t went from nothingness to existence. That’s power. Our tongue can wound deeply and drive a person to drastic actions. It can also bless, bring a smile and radically transform a soul. The words ‘I love you’ have been known to fill a hole in a searching heart. Professing Jesus as Lord can produce redemption and reconciliation in a life. Today speak life, love and peace. #BeTheEdge
