Influencing culture for the Kingdom

Proverbs 10:20 NIV

“The tongue of the righteous is as choice silver, The heart of the wicked is worth little.”

“Language shapes our behavior and each word we use is imbued with multitudes of personal meaning. The right words spoken in the right way can bring us love, money and respect, while the wrong words—or even the right words spoken in the wrong way — can lead a country to war. We must carefully orchestrate our speech if we want to achieve our goals and bring our dreams to fruition.” these words were written by Dr. Andrew Newberg, “Words Can Change Your Brain” He is correct. However knowing that our words are governed by God’s spirit and truth makes them more than powerful. It makes them supernaturally powerful. When God’s spirit speaks He is at work in the souls of others. That is why scripture cautions against idol, frivolous talk. That always seemed a bit extreme to me until I realizes that an idle word hitting against a tender place in an unknown broken spirit can be life alteringly destructive. A God imbued word hitting that same broken, hurting spirit can bring life change, even eternal life change. Today speak God’s truth carefully or remain silent. #BeTheEdge

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Ephesians‬ ‭4:29‬ ‭NIV‬
