Proverbs 1:25 NIV

“since you disregard all my advice and do not accept my rebuke,”

It’s a new year and this verse is all about choosing a path, choosing to listen and change. In this chapter God’s wisdom and knowledge have challenged the reader to make a choice. Solomon is directly addressing the person who has chosen to ignore His counsel and correction. The result is disaster. As we enter a new year I find it a great time for not only reflection but also correction. Contrary to what our internal programming may tell us, there is nothing uniquely magical about January 1st that is any different than August 27th or any other random day of the year. We have programmed the day as a society and even individually to be a new beginning. A new tax year starts today. That’s significant. Resolutions are often made today. So the opportunity for new starts in our story fits well. Asking the self reflective questions and making necessary adjustments that the Holy Spirit reveals at the start of a new calendar year is a wonderful strategy. What in your journey would God like to change, rid you of, add, tweak or completely put to death and resurrect brand new? Questions not only worth asking today but vital in our walk with Christ every day. Today ask and listen for God’s desired changes in your story. #BeTheEdge

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 NIV
