“Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance.”

The goal of these devotions is to enhance the intent Solomon expressed in each verse: to learn and be guided by God’s truth. By no means do I believe I can add to the wisdom shared in these verses. My hope is that we can all gain some context and be challenged in fresh ways to put these truths into practice. They are needed in my own walk with Christ daily, and if, on occasion, they ‘spur others on toward love and good deeds,’ that’s a beautiful thing. The verse at the end of each devotion is always from a different part of Scripture, other than Proverbs, with the intent of reinforcing the point made in God’s Word. I often us one of about 20 verses I think are critical to have imbedded in our heart and mind as we live our lives. I also encourage you to always check what I’ve said to ensure it aligns with the fullness of Scripture. I am far from infallible in my opinions, so feel free to correct me. My insights come from over 50 years of walking both poorly and well in the faith. Today with all this in mind, let’s determine to enjoy the year by starting our day with a challenge from the second wisest man to ever walk the earth and serve God. #BeTheEdge
