“A longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but fools detest turning from evil.”

I have been amazed at how many times I’ve talked to someone who is obviously suffering because of a destructive behavior or sin in their life that they insist is not hurting them or others in their life. It’s as if they have never looked in a mirror or the eyes of their loved ones. It is obvious to anyone around them that their sin has a death grip on their relationships, their physical life or their joy. Often all three. Even worse they do not realize the wonderful things they are missing out on. They trade cheap thrills and short lived satisfaction for the power and great gifts God offers. Not only do they willingly allow sin to control them but they actually aggressively pursue these sins. The longing fulfilled that is sweet to the soul referred to by Solomon is experienced by God’s followers who find great joy when their righteous desires are fulfilled. Pursuing the things of God brings a powerful freedom and even better come with no guilt. What could be better? Today pursue God and His calling. #BeTheEdge

“But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.” Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭22‬ ‭NIV‬‬
