“The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, but the LORD tests hearts.” Proverbs 17:3 NASB

Anybody else feeling a little heat these days? I know many people are feeling under attack from a variety of angles. Whether it’s a threat to your health, social situation, or one of a dozen other things, it is fairly safe to say the pressure is on in almost everyone’s life. Even my 87-year-old mother told me the other day, “When this Covid stuff is all over with, I can’t decide if I’m going to Weight Watchers or Alcoholics Anonymous first.” True story folks. Most of the challenges currently in our lives are truly beyond our capacity to handle or solve. We can try solutions of our own design and they may bring some relief. But, here’s what I know. God allows trials in our lives. I believe He is doing a corporate work, maybe in our country, but definitely in the Body of Christ. Ultimately though, He is about doing a refining work in His individual followers. His goal is to conform us to the image of His Son. Those He loves, He disciplines, or as John said in the 15th chapter of the gospel by his name, He prunes us so that we can be more fruitful. Don’t miss what He is doing in you, or wants to, during this time. It will end, but the change can be eternal. Today, review what He’s doing in you and allow it to become a part of who you are as you move forward. #BeTheEdge.

“…every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.” John 15:2 NASB
