“The words of the mouth are deep waters, but the fountain of wisdom is a rushing stream.”
This is not just any man. Solomon is pointing us toward the “ideal man”. For us it is that person who has diligently followed God. They are a student of His teachings and have placed themselves at the feet of others who do the same for years. This is not a young, passion filled follower. That is how this person started but over time that grew into a deep wisdom. It’s like the aging process of a fine wine. Ultimately their heart, which is often the other translation for the word mouth in this verse, is filled to overflowing with wisdom. I have been around those people my whole life. They exude a calm peace and judiciousness in speech that draws wise people to them. Occasionally you will find them as Elders or Deacons in our churches. More often you find them at the helm of companies with a very distinct Kingdom element. I look for them. Not only because, as the President of The Edge ministry, we engage them in influencing other companies, but because they enrich my life and draw me closer to our King. Today incorporate time with these men and women into your story. #BeTheEdge
