“Come, eat my food and drink the wine I have mixed.”
Jesus gives a similar offer in John 6. In this passage Wisdom offers an invitation to the simple and gullible. It has been implied that Satan takes advantage of these people but certainly not God. However I find it not only comforting but also very consistent with who we see Jesus being in the New Testament. He always treated this person with a beautiful attitude of kindness and dignity. Solomon shows Wisdom offering all a person needs for life. Jesus does the same in John 6. Early church leaders believed this was one of a number of prophetic views of Jesus and His offers to the world to never hunger or thirst again. The experience of being hungry or thirsty is universal. Without question there are those who gently experience these conditions and others literally suffering in this condition. However, the universality of them make these Old and New Testament references relatable to everyone. No matter the intensity of your condition God wants you, and me, to realize and respond to His offer in a very real sense. Today accept His offer and allow Him to meet your needs. #BeTheEdge
