Proverbs 2:3 NASB

“For if you cry for discernment, lift your voice for understanding;” Proverbs 2:3 NASB

Salvation is easy, well – except for that whole pride thing. But growth and conformity to Christ, that’s a bit more challenging. Yes, God clearly tells us that He is committed to conforming us to the image of Jesus, but He never says it will be a breeze. The thing about life is that it seems determined to throw everything possible in our path to make us stumble and fall. We have to put effort, real effort, into living daily for Jesus and growing through struggle and trial into the image of His Son. The thing is, if you are His He is going to get you there; you can go kicking and screaming or working hand in hand with Him. We will face times in our journey where we are trying to figure out how, if He really loves us, He could let things be so hard and either silently or, most often, out loud we will cry out to Him. “What are you doing to me?” “Why are you allowing this?” Some variation of those questions will fly out of the heart of every believer. They are legit questions. Often, He will only offer a simple response: “Because I love you.” That will have to be enough. Today, hear those words from His heart to yours and find comfort there. “BeTheEdge

“For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son…” Romans 8:29a NASB
