Proverbs 25:2 NIV

“It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.”

Last night I was talking with my accountability partner about ministry groups we lead and which ones we might need to begin handing off to others. One of his that I could tell he really loves involves approximately 4 hours of in-depth study in scripture to prepare weekly. In reflecting on that I realized that preparing these devotions from Proverbs daily involves much the same amount of study each week and how much I enjoy not only writing them but the new insights I receive as I dig into commentaries and the meanings in the original language. What we learn is great, however, as in this verse, the searching out of God’s deeper truths is what is exciting and fun. My mom use to own a cabin in the mountains of North Carolina. When my children were young and we would visit, a favorite activity was sifting for gold in a creek. For them the search for treasure was so exciting. Like hiding eggs for our children’s Easter egg hunt our Heavenly Father enjoys our search for treasures He has waiting to be discovered by His children. Today dig deeper. #BeTheEdge
