Proverbs 26:7 NIV

“Like the useless legs of one who is lame is a proverb in the mouth of a fool.”

For the past 90 days I have been unable to put weight on my right ankle. I had surgery to repair it. Tomorrow I begin the process of slowly walking again. Yay! That being said if you needed me to do anything beyond the walls of my house you would have been out of luck. I was 100% dependent on others to get me outside of the house. I love when my grandkids visit. However when the smallest come to visit I have been very nervous about what I would do if one of them got hurt and I needed to get them help. I’m thinking I’d end up needing another ankle surgery. Knowing all of that it would have been very foolish to give me any sort of task that involved me leaving my house. It is a very unattractive thing to watch me stumble and teeter as I try to get around. Out of the corner of my vision I see people restrain themselves with the urge to reach out and help (rescue) me. Sometimes they don’t restrain them selves. In the same way Solomon tells us that a person who lives a foolish and unwise life looks and sounds somewhat pathetic as they try and share wise words. They are an embarrassing and awkward sight to see and tend to elicit a desire to rescue them and shut them up. Today speak when necessary but more importantly live wisely. #BeTheEdge

“My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,” James‬ ‭1:19‬ ‭NIV‬
