Proverbs 30:20 NIV

“This is the way of an adulterous woman: She eats and wipes her mouth and says, ‘I’ve done nothing wrong.’”

The effort to justify and rationalize sin in my life has been exhausting. The freedom I discovered in dealing quickly with sin has been one of the most freeing and life restoring parts of growing in the faith. When conviction hits, recognizing and responding as soon as possible is second only to avoiding the sin in the first place. Those who continually ignore the conviction of sin brought into their conscience by the Holy Spirit will eventually have their conscience seared and become like the adulterous woman in this verse. They will actually believe their sin is not sin. Scripture tells us this person is in danger of stiffening their neck to the point that it will be broken beyond repair. That may be one of the most frightening images in all of scripture. Today if the Spirit convicts you of sin don’t hesitate, confess and repent immediately. #BeTheEdge

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭NIV‬‬
