“by his knowledge the watery depths were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew.”
Many people, maybe even you, have heard me talk about the first thing I did with student leaders or new believers when I worked in youth ministry. At our very first meeting I would challenge them to memorize and ponder the first four words in the Bible. Almost everyone knows what they are. “In the beginning God…” At the next meeting we would discuss the power and foundation that those words brought to a life, especially theirs at that moment. Next I would ask them to memorize and ponder those words and add the next word to it. “In the beginning God…created.” The following meeting we would discuss and consider all of the potential meaning in those five words. They are the key to everything. Believe and live by the power of them and life and the rest of scripture came alive. Disbelieve and ignore them and suffer the consequences of a broken life and future. In this verse of Proverbs Solomon goes back to the very beginning in Genesis. As the Bible says.com so excellently puts it, “All are a part of the fabric of Creation, which is an extension of Existence, which is God.” Yeah that might take a second but essentially it is telling us what those first 5 words of Genesis did, God created everything and the key elements were all part of the creation story. In those six days everything we see today existed. It just took God given intelligence, creativity and skills to put it together. Even AI. Your house, your cloths, your company, everything springs forth from the days of creation. Except sin and its effects. Today ponder in awe and wonder. #BeTheEdge
