My theme for the year, quite possible the rest of my life, is #LoveJesusBeKind. It seems so simple. It’s not. It seems revolutionary. It is. This verse seems easy also. I mean seriously, who would not treat a deserving person well when they are able to? Sadly too many people seem to miss this opportunity for a variety of reasons. I can assure you that there is not a single good reason on the list. As representatives of our Creator and redeemer it should become second nature to treat others as God does. He does not only give good to the deserving but, He has been known to shower it on the undeserving as well. Take me for example. I believe when Paul claimed to be the chief amongst all sinners it was because he never met me. God has showered my life with so much blessing that I am often humbled as I reflect on it. How about you? Is there any part of your story that leads you to believe you deserve God’s unfathomable goodness? If so I suggest a reexamination. This is not to make anyone feel bad. It is about being grateful for God’s amazing grace, forgiveness, redemption and love. By the way, it is always in your power to act kindly to everyone.
