Influencing culture for the Kingdom

Proverbs 4:26 NASB

“Watch the path of your feet and all your ways will be established.” Proverbs 4:26 NASB

Schools just released the beginnings of their plans for resuming classes this fall for the first time in the midst of a pandemic. Simultaneously we are figuring how, as individuals, families, organizations, and communities to navigate a new reality of racial reconciliation. You can add to those two a myriad of other personal and corporate challenges. Besides that, dare I predict, we can count on new issues to surprise us as the months move forward. Through The Edge ministry, I work with business leaders on navigating both these and other challenges. As a minister, I’m serving with three other local ministers on a team drafting our Ministerial Alliance Statement on Racial Justice & Reconciliation. It could all be overwhelming. However, for the most part it’s not. The majority of people I’m working with have been walking faithfully with God for years. As a result, their focus is imbedded in some core Biblical realities. The least of them is certainly not the fact that we serve a sovereign God who anticipated all these challenges, orchestrated a few, and is prepared to lead His people through them and panics at nothing. That makes for a steadying influence. Each challenge, and the loud voices pushing them, will try and shift your focus from Him to them. Do not allow that to happen. Today, cling firmly to the truths and promises of your King and find direction for your steps and peace in Him. #BeTheEdge
