We have all seen this person. Not necessarily the adulteress that Solomon refers to a few verses earlier but the person who moves aimlessly through life not really considering how one decision today sets us on a path for tomorrow and how each day, dare I say moments, decisions can reroute that path. This is the person who lives by whims. If it feels good do it. Not counting the cost. As a result of this lifestyle a person loses the ability or willingness to consider where their decisions are taking them. In business this can help explain why some survive while others don’t. It is why some companies operate off a strategic plan based on a mission centered on biblical values while others chase quick wins and fixes without considering the best way for sustained growth and success while positively impacting their world. The meandering life looks fun and carefree. It can be for a short time. The disciplined, God led life at times looks a sit stiff. There is a balance for sure but as Dave Ramsey likes to say we live like no one else today so we can live like no one else tomorrow. At least I think he says that. You see the reward is not in the lazy, gland driven life style. My lab Oscar lives that way. The real reward is where we end up while enjoying the God centered, fruit filled, guilt free life along the way.
