Proverbs 6:15 NIV

“Therefore disaster will overtake him in an instant; he will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy.”

That sounds like the start of a bad day. The news has been full of natural disasters hitting our planet over the past few years. “On average, there are about 6,800 natural disasters that happen every year worldwide. While they may fill up the screen in summer blockbuster movies, natural disasters in the real world are devastating, powerful forces of nature.” (The Zebra) That’s an almost unbelievable amount. With that being the case here Solomon tells us about the person who chooses to add a personal disaster to their life. And unlike a coming hurricane that gives us days to prepare or even an approaching tornado that usually has a siren to warn of it’s approach he explains there is no time to prepare for this. This personal disaster is from willful, continuous sin. There actually is a warning of this impending doom. It’s in this verse and other scripture that tells us what is coming into the life of the trouble maker and villain who lives their own life as the source of pain, hurt and attempted disaster in others lives. This caution is not so much for you to not be that person although if the description fits repent and leave that life now. It’s for us to avoid that person and escape their impending disaster as a bystander. Today help the lost and avoid the intentionally evil. #BeTheEdge

“Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭22‬ ‭NIV‬‬
