Proverbs 6:21 NIV

“Bind them always on your heart; fasten them around your neck.”

When my kids were younger (school age) my wife would write a Bible verse on a note card or a sticky note and put it in their lunch. Each day they would dig into their lunch and find a reminder about living life in view of God’s eternal truth from His word. Solomon is encouraging us to live a life of this type as well, constantly focusing on God’s truth. I have heard some people claim that certain believers can be so heavenly minded that they are no earthly good. In all my years I’ve never witnessed that being true about a person. I have witnessed God followers who were way to earthly minded to be any heavenly good. I’m afraid there have been times that I was that person. I have a note card my wife wrote many years ago by my sink to remind me of God’s truth every morning as I start my day. We put verses on the refrigerator when our kids were young. If I pulled my visor down in my car there would be a verse there. These verses on sticky notes appeared everywhere. Get the idea? Solomon is reminding us to never allow God’s truth to be far from our sight. What are you doing to keep His word fresh in your heart and mind? Always present wherever you turn. Today make every effort to position His word before your eyes, mind and heart. #BeTheEdge
