Proverbs 7:21 NIV

“With persuasive words she led him astray; she seduced him with her smooth talk.”

Here is that evil adulteress again. Solomon knows that when it comes to young men, actually any age men, and sin, illicit sex is high on the list of ways satan attacks. Over the years we have seen many verses in Proverbs and throughout scripture that caution against yielding to the ever present temptations of immorality. We are told that of all sins this one destroys us physically. The word for seduced in this verse implies that he was at first reticent to engage in this behavior with her but she convinced him it was a good idea. He knew it wasn’t and unlike some translations which say she ‘forced’ him he always had the choice to walk, or better yet run away from her tempting offer. Some theologians make the point that this same behavior by a wife is a positive way to keep a husbands attention at home where it belongs. There is no doubt that being an alluring presence or for men being romantic is a great gift to our spouse. Today run from sexual sin. #BeTheEdge

“Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭18‬ ‭NIV‬‬
