Proverbs 7:26 NIV

“Many are the victims she has brought down; her slain are a mighty throng.”‬‬

This chapter starts and ends with the same admonition: son, stay away from adultery. Obviously Solomon feels it’s a big deal. It’s not just that he is fixated on it because of the incredible damage he witnessed in his father’s life as well as his own. He, like us, sees the rampant practice of this sin and the devastating consequences on all the lives involved, even peripherally. Sexual sin is out of control in our world today. Similar to yesterday’s devotion, there has been a normalization of this sin in all its forms to the point that even the most deviant forms of sexual behavior is seen by many as acceptable. The results have insatiable appetites and victimization of the innocent. Sex trafficking is a worldwide phenomenon that goes beyond anything ever imagined by prior generations. I must confess that when I was younger I had never heard the term. We were aware of incidents. The face on the milk carton, not even known by today’s young, began when I was a child. There is no doubt what most of those children were grabbed for. Today buying and selling of sex, viewing of pornography and so much more is everywhere. Yesterday I saw a headline about a church calling the authorities to deal with a brothel next to the church. It’s time for the church to intervene. Solomon saw all this and more coming. Today pray for all the victims of this heart wrenching battle. #BeTheEdge

“Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭18‬ ‭NIV‬‬
