“Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice?”
The ignorant or unwise remain that way by choice. Maybe it’s pride. Maybe it’s fear. Possibly it’s simple misunderstanding. But those who lack wise judgment as they age are ignoring the same opportunity to know God and His wisdom that everyone else has. Romans tells us that He has made Himself apparent to all through His works in creation. Those who don’t know Him choose not to. Those who know Him but don’t grow in wisdom and understanding also choose not to. This is not a particularly Calvinist point of view, but our understanding of God is determined by the decisions we make. Do we spend time studying His Word? Do we attend a good Bible-teaching church? Do we listen to and obey that still, small voice of the Holy Spirit within us? The answer to these questions establish the basis for a growing and knowing faith. The beautiful truth about God is that He desires a relationship with us and wants to be known by us even more than we desire it. And He clearly makes Himself known. A person truly has to intentionally blind themselves not to see Him and His love for us. Today, answer when He calls. #BeTheEdge
“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” Romans 1:20 NIV
