Want the secret to a joy filled, peaceful and content life? Who doesn’t? Here it is. Stay constantly by God’s side. Walk steadily in His companionship. When I worked with teenagers they would be quick to tell me that life sounded boring. Adults often feel the same but are less open to say it. A quick reflection on whose side we are talking about staying close too might help. This is the eternal one who created a flawless universe. A place of such beauty that even as I currently sit by the gently rolling waves of the Gulf of Mexico on a cloudless day with a gentle breeze I still cannot grasp the unblemished nature of His original creation or what awaits us in the next life. Maybe the realization that we can walk beside the one who, as Manning puts it, created a “solar system and stellar universe, scientists and scholars have concluded (in which) the Master Planner left nothing to chance.” I challenge you to come up with any one or any thing as exciting to walk with in this world or the next that could possibly fill you with as much delight.
