Proverbs 8:4 NIV

“To you, O people, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind.”

This verse throws us back to the three before. Wisdom, God’s voice, is inviting everyone in. God raises His voice not to a chosen few or even chosen many. He calls out to “all” mankind. Peter doubles down on this by telling us that God’s heart is that no one would perish. There are religions that believe only their select group are loved and have been chosen by God to join Him in eternity. Amazingly, there are actually Christian denominations that believe that as well. The challenge for us as followers of God is that we are to live in such a way that shows we recognize that everyone we encounter is an eternal soul that God sacrificed His Son to save. You see He is interested in both the individual and the “all”. Remember this: For God so loved…that whoever would believe. Now look, I’m not trying to begin a debate between the freewill and the predestination teams. I’m just reminding us that whichever camp you ultimately land in you don’t know which person you encounter today is His already but you know everyone of them was created for a relationship with Him and need to both see and hear Him in you. Today live like the person next to you matters to God, because they do. #BeTheEdge

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬
