Proverbs 9:13 NIV

“Folly is an unruly woman; she is simple and knows nothing.”

This verse is in contrast to the dignified women described earlier in the chapter who invites young men to forgo their folly and learn from her. She personifies wisdom. This woman is a harlot who is loud and boisterous in her attempt to be heard. What she offers is simple and worthless. Too often I have learned that the loud, quick tempered, argumentative person has very little of value to offer so they resort to this obnoxious and overbearing behavior to try and persuade. They are aware that calm and thoughtful conversation will reveal their emptiness, dark heart and evil intent. The wise women offers solid, deep wisdom in a calm and patient way. The difference could not be more clear. We are given the responsibility to make a choice between folly, the immoral and empty temptress of virtue, God’s wise ways. Today choose wisely and clearly the way of God. #BeTheEdge
